Dr. Carl J. Schaefer was a lifelong champion in career and technical education (CTE). He gained national recognition as a CTE educator and author and was one of NOCTI’s founding fathers. To honor Dr. Schaefer, NOCTI is proud to sponsor the “Carl J. Schaefer Memorial Award” as a tribute to Dr. Schaefer’s memory and to recognize an outstanding CTE teacher or CTE teacher candidate.

Essay addressing personal goals, work experience, awards/honors received, memberships in professional organizations, and leadership and community service experiences
Letter of recommendation
Enrollment at an accredited college or university in a teacher education degree, licensure, or certification program
Completion of a relevant NOCTI teacher test
The award recipient will receive $500 to be used toward tuition, room and board, books, or any other educational-related expense.
