The AMCA was established in 2010 with a vision of enhancing the allied healthcare industry by providing national certification exams that validate the knowledge and expertise of professionals in this field. Collaboration and active participation in the allied healthcare industry serves as a support network for allied healthcare professionals. The AMCA has maintained membership in various organizations to strengthen its ties to the industry.
The NOCTI and AMCA Connection
AMCA and NOCTI have partnered to offer AMCA's Clinical Medical Assistant and Nursing Assistant certification exams through QuadNet™, NOCTI's online assessment system. AMCA supports the NOCTI assessment closely aligned to its exams, designating these assessments as a pre-requisite for individuals interested in AMCA certification.
NOCTI assessments serve as an excellent training instrument, in both content and test-mode preparation. Individuals passing both a NOCTI assessment and an AMCA certification exam are demonstrating superior knowledge in their field and positioning themselves as an outstanding candidate for entry-level positions in the allied healthcare field.
Passing a NOCTI pre-requisite assessment provides eligibility to register with AMCA for a certification exam.
Successful individuals will be provided an application and payment information for registering with AMCA for a certification exam.
Upon registration receipt, AMCA will provide study materials, exam administration information, and certification application information.
Upon successful completion of the AMCA exam at an AMCA approved testing location (see cut scores below), individuals submit exam results to AMCA for certification.
Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
NOCTI's Medical Assisting assessment serves as the pre-requisite for the AMCA Clinical Medical Assistant exam. Participants must pass the NOCTI assessment with a 75.4% to be eligible to register for the certification exam. Successful completion of the AMCA exam requires a score of 73% or higher in order to apply for CMAC certification, Phlebotomy Technician certification, and EKG Technician certification! Testing needs to be completed at an AMCA approved testing location.
The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) granted AMCA accreditation to the Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) for demonstrating compliance with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.
Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC)
